Painted Arches

Double-arch

For this photo I decided to process using Snap Art 2. It has been a while since I have used this plugin, but upon returning from Arches I found that there was large smug on my sensor. This caused a very obvious portion of each photo to be out of focus. This was very disappointing. Instead of throwing out all the images I decided to turn a few of the images into paintings. This is Snap Arts version of an oil painting.

Arches National Park

Arches-1

Arches National Park is such an amazing place.  Around every turn is  different adventure and wonder.  The landscapes are eye popping and a photographers dream.  In this photo I love the dramatic looking wispy clouds.  I used a polarizing filter and processed the photo in Lightroom 3 and Topaz Adjust.

Dead Horse Point

Dead Horse Point
This photo was a five exposure hdr of Dead Horse Point, Utah. There was just enough color in the sunset to add a little extra interest. Just a few feet from this photo is a near 1,000 foot cliff. It was one of my favorite photoshoots in the recent memory.

Reflection

Spike

For this version of the water droplet reflections I placed a different flower in the background. I had to move fast to take this photo. My daughters gave my two year old the hose and he was spraying everything in site. At one point he even hit the camera with a few drops of water. I have a few more of these to come in the next couple of days. Have a fun shooting great pictures this long holiday. Click here to view on black.

Reflected Spikes

Reflected Spikes

This is the second photo in this series. This is the same plant as yesterday and the same flower. The angle is different, and that gives a different feel. This time the spikes are much more prominent then yesterday. Click here to view on black.

I like how clear the spikes are.
I like how on some of the drops you can see the cactus reflected.
I do wish the reflected flowers were a little more prominent.
